- A walk along the mangrove boardwalk and explanation of the different species of mangroves

- Touch tank aquarium
- Information about the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and an explanation of the research taking place at Galeta
Children learning about the ocean's ecosystem
The weather at Galeta is dry from December to March and can be rainy between April and November. During the rainy season, we sometimes we have the uncomfortable presence of “chitras” (very small bugs, sometimes called “sandfleas” or “no-see-ums”), and thus we recommend you come with long pants and sleeves and some kind of repellent. Swimming at the beach is NOT permitted. We don’t have a cafeteria, but you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy while relaxing and blending in with nature!
