The Smithsonian bookstores are of great importance to the Institution. Through the sale of books and other items, STRI is able to contribute with the strengthening and improvement of different programs and projects in the Republic of Panama.

These bookstores also contribute with the Institute’s mission of spreading knowledge through the sale of books by its internationally known scientific staff and through the distribution of these publications to other local institutions and businesses, disseminating the work done at STRI.
