How to get there?

Gamboa is 40 minutes by car from our main office in town, located at Roosevelt Avenue, in the Ancon sector of Panama City. There is no gas station in Gamboa. The nearest gas station is in Albrook, so don't come to Gamboa with a nearly empty tank.

Directions

• Drive along the Gaillard Highway passing Albrook and Clayton on your right and the Miraflores locks on your left.
• Continue past the Pedro Miguel locks, past the community of Paraiso, past the Summit Golf Club and go under a small railroad bridge inscribed 1929.
• Immediately after the underpass, turn left on to Gamboa Road.
• Pass the entrance to the Summit Botanical Garden on your right.
• After approximately 11 kilometers you will arrive at a single-lane bridge that crosses the river to Gamboa.
• To the Ridge (follow the hotel signs): After crossing the bridge, turn right and pass the gate entrance. Take the turn left going up the hill and continue till you find apartment 275 on your left and 268 on your right.
• To STRI dock (follow the signs from the Gamboa bridge): After crossing the bridge, continue straight. Pass the former gas station and the ACP dock (Dredging Division) on your left, and the Gamboa Post Office and the colorful Santa Cruz houses on your right. Before this road turns to the right, take the sand road to the left to the STRI dock.
• To school building: After crossing the bridge, continue straight. Before passing the former gas station turn right. The two-story building on your left between the two churches is the school building.
• To building 183: After crossing the bridge, continue straight. Before passing the former gas station turn right. Go straight up to an intersection, and then turn right again. After about 100 m. you will see the two-story building 183 with the STRI sign at your right hand.

The trip takes about 40-45 minutes (without traffic jams). You can follow the Gamboa (Rainforest Resort) signs.

Public Transportation to Gamboa

Bus

Gamboa is frequented by the SACA bus. The SACA bus station in Panama City is located in front of the Palacio Legislativo at Plaza 5 de mayo. The trip to Gamboa from the city will take approximately one hour. Call the bus company at +507 212-3420 to check the bus schedule. Be aware that departure times change frequently, so be sure to come 15 minutes early.

Taxi
