Cruise Scheduling

All scheduling of R/V Urraca is done through the Vessel Superintendent.

The R/V Urraca is a "Small Research Vessel" within the UNOLS (University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System: http://www.unols.org/) fleet of research vessels. UNOLS sets safety standards for research vessels and organizes fleet usage for NSF-supported cruises.

Cruises are requested by completing an "UNOLS Cruise Request Form" and sending it to the Vessel Superintendent. The form should be received by the Vessel Superintendent before July 1 of the preceding year (e.g. submit a request for calendar year 2001 by July 1, 2000). "Late" requests and schedule changes will be accommodated, if possible, within the established schedule and budget.
