Accident and Diving Insurance

STRI does not provide medical, accident or workers compensation coverage for persons on board the R/V Urraca who are not employed by the Smithsonian Institution. All non-Smithsonian personnel on an Urraca cruise are considered to be STRI visiting scientists. Visiting scientists embarking on the R/V Urraca must have internationally valid medical insurance. It is the Chief Scientist's responsibility to ensure that all personnel in the scientific party have the required coverage. Information about such coverage is to be included in the Cruise Participant Questionnaire which each member of the scientific party must submit prior to the cruise.
