Coral Reef Genomics.
We use genomic tools to examine coral reef health. Our target species are the corals Acropora palmata and Montastraea faveolata and some of their dominant dinoflagellate symbionts. We have developed gene expression microarrays to look at the transcriptome during larval and adult stages in different physiological conditions. We also examine the microbial communities in these organisms and how they change in response to changes in physiology.
